You run your finger up the neck and it's not a straight feel. The neck has a weird thing where it feels 'bumpy' on the top (bass side) shoulder. Action a little lower and a few tweaks on the truss rod to straighten the neck some. Hardware is typical Epiphone which is solid these days, and CTS pots turn nicely, but the wiring seems modern and not 50s wiring.
I expected to change out pickups, but these can definitely stay. It can be boxy on semi-hollows like this, but it's quite pleasant. Fretboard is Indian Laurel, and look and feel is very nice. The Good:įinish and general quality is great, but see 'Ugly' for exceptions. some thoughts so far - the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. $550 was too much for an import, but AltoMusic came through and Santa delivered.
